Starplus PrithviRaj Chauhan
Prithviraj Chauhan: From the makers of the epic Ramayana and the more recent Hatim, after ten years of painstaking research, comes another period drama - Prithviraj Chauhan. Based primarily on Chand Bardai's Prithviraj Rasos, the Sagars present the story of this fascinating character for STAR Plus.
Prithviraj Chauhan is one of the most interesting and powerful characters of Indian history. His name is even today associated with the virtues of Rajput valour, chivalry and patriotism. His bravery on the battlefield was unmatched and he was known to be virtuous and principled until his death.
The "warrior king" as he was popularly known, was in love with his enemy's daughter-Sanyogita. He rode off with her on the day of her swayamvar before the watchful eye of her father.
His story highlights all the important aspects of life-duty, bravery, patriotism, friendship, family and romance.
The series will be divided into five phases and will trace the life of Prithviraj right from his birth until his death. The series is set in the 11th century but will introduce a more modern look with respect to the treatment of the costumes, production design and language, while staying true to the original story. It will maintain a fine balance between the authentic and the contemporary.
Starplus Saarthi
Saarrthi: Saarrthi is a story about the conflict between two brothers and their families, one of which is on the path of dharma (Righteousness), the other being on the path of adharma. The story of Saarrthi is not the epic of 'Mahabharata'.
Still one cannot ignore the strong underlying similarities in their characters. The story is a reflection of the new social realities, with today's people and their issues and occupations. It is an attempt to recreate an entertaining daily soap with modern characters and much more contemporary conflicts with which the audience will easily identify. All the characters of the serial would be today's characters, except Lord Shri Krishna who will be himself from the real Mahabharat age.
The battle is between Mansen Goenka and Dharamdayal Goenka, the sons of Hemraj Goenka- the foremost leading business tycoon of the country. Mansen considers Dharamdayal and his family the illegal descendants of Hemraj and hates them openly.
When Hemraj announces the will that only if both the families live under one roof - The Heritage House - will Mansen get a part of the property, Mansen is forced to invite Dharamdayal and family to stay with them. The battle then continues to ensue between Dharamdayal's sons and Mansen's sons. It's a battle between Arjun - the hero of the show and Yuvraj - the main antagonist. Bhumika is Arjun's love interest and the female protagonist.
Saarrthi depicts how a human being in his life is tied up with many different relationships: mother - son, father - daughter, brother - sister, uncle - nephew, husband - wife and so on. While he is living up to these relationships as he is expected to, he also decides his Karma. But due to his social ambitions he is still repeating the same mistakes that gave birth to the epic battle of Mahabharata in which unjust and untruth was defeated in the presence of Lord Shri Krishna.
